a centuries-old tradition...

Welcome to our Polish Pottery collection!

Polish Table is pleased to bring you an exciting collection of Polish pottery cookware, dishes, and kitchen and table accessories from Boleslawiec, Poland.

The Boleslawiec region, home to pottery making for centuries, has a number of Polish pottery producers. One manufacturer in particular, the Ceramika Artystyczna cooperative, produces outstanding stoneware, both in quality and beauty, and that's why we've chosen our Polish pottery from Ceramika Artystyczna.

Polish pottery from Ceramika Artystyczna

is very special...it's rare to find decorative pottery that is non-toxic. Besides being stunning, Polish pottery from Ceramika Artystyczna is both functional and safe, providing baking dishes and cookware that can also be used as exquisite serving dishes.

The baking dishes are available in lasagne dishes, ramekins, covered bakers, au gratin dishes, casserole dishes and pie and tart dishes. Other cookware includes nesting mixing bowls from small to large. And for entertaining, Polish pottery is wonderful with the never-ending choices of serving dishes, appetizer dishes, as well as plates, bowls, condiment dishes, cups, mugs, and accessories for your table...butter dishes, salt and pepper shakers, pitchers, and on and on.

Firing the Pottery

Polish pottery from Ceramika Artystyczna is high-fired at temperatures exceeding 2450° Fahrenheit, resulting in an ultra-smooth hard glaze for easy cleaning, and producing stoneware that is an especially durable ceramic product. The thick stoneware retains heat and maintains an even temperature. It is lead- and cadmium-free and safe for use in freezer, oven, microwave and dishwasher.

The Patterns

There are four levels of patterns at Ceramika Artystyczna: Traditional, Traditional I, Unikat (U3), and Unikat (U4), the first being the most simple and the last being the most complex.

Artists who achieve a superior level of excellence in craftsmanship begin designing unique patterns referred to as Unikat, or Signature. Polish pottery in Unikat patterns bears the artist's signature. It is labor-intensive and therefore, limited in supply. Each piece is a treasure.

Mix and Match Polish Pottery

Polish pottery lends itself to a "mix-and-match" style. See examples of complimentary Polish pottery patterns. The common element of Silesian blue brings very different patterns into harmony. Or, by adding a decorative piece as a focal point, you can add interest to a monotone palette. The seemingly endless patterns, with new designs being created all the time, make Polish pottery collecting a never-ending source of joy.

Only "first quality" Polish pottery is offered on this site.
